Better to be dishonest?

Jack Sparrow: Me? I’m dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It’s the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they’re going to do something incredibly… stupid.”

Yeap: when an honest man does something stupid, he’s always blamed much worse than a dishonest man who does something bad. Also the bad guy is protected from harm or anything that may upset him, while the good guy is not. Why? Because people like predictability, being able to know what comes next, even with bad things. But they don’t like unpleasant surprises, which need a bit of effort to get over. And when it comes to “protection”, the bad guy knows how to seem vulnerable or inspires fear, while the good guy is allways considered able “to take it” or understand.

A man or woman (especially women) would always treat better the ones whom they’ve allowed to do (to them) intentional harm on a constant basis, than the ones who do them good, but make unintentional mistakes (even not related to them).

The trouble is that they forget something: everybody makes mistakes from time to time. Nobody is perfect. I just get frustrated because, being a “good guy” (most of the time), the smallest of mistakes is accused, punished and it’s treated like the end of an era, while someone whom is known to be dishonest, a liar and a profiteer, always gets the benefit of the doubt and “second chances” (and thirds… and so on).

Good thing i learned how to not be a good guy all the time.
